March 17 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening 1 point lower at 6,793 on Wednesday, according to financial bookmakers.

* G4S (CSE: G4S ): The G4S GFS.L takeover saga finally came to an end on Tuesday after a majority of the security company's shareholders accepted a 3.8 billion pound offer from U.S. rival Allied Universal, snubbing hostile Canadian bidder GardaWorld. CAPITA: Capita CPI.L on Wednesday will unveil a fresh restructuring of the embattled outsourcer, along with a plan to raise 400 million pounds from a string of disposals, Sky News reported on Tuesday. AIRLINES: A recovery in UK travel bookings appears undimmed by the suspension of AstraZeneca's AZN.L COVID-19 vaccine elsewhere in Europe, airlines said on Tuesday. CLIMATE: Britain plans to invest 1 billion pounds to cut emissions from industry, schools and hospitals, it said on Wednesday. GOLD: Gold prices edged up on to hover near their highest in more than two weeks on prospects of higher inflation. OIL: Oil prices slipped for a fourth day on worries about rocky demand in Europe. The UK blue-chip index .FTSE closed 0.8% higher on Tuesday following a clutch of upbeat company earnings, while AstraZeneca rose after the European medicine watchdog said it saw little reason to change its stance on the drugmaker's COVID-19 vaccine.
