Tata Motors’ Shares Rise in Early Trade; Multiple Developments

By Malvika Gurung

Investing.com -- Shares of the auto manufacturing giant Tata Motors (NS: TAMO ) climbed up to 2% in early trade on Thursday, as the Delhi Government approved the induction of 1,500 buses from the company to add to the fleet of Delhi Transport Corporation.

Doing so would reduce the emission of fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) and particulate matter 10 (PM 10) in carbon emissions by 0.33 million tonnes for 10 years.

The Delhi Cabinet has given a green signal to the procurement of 1,950 new electric buses, of which 1,500 will be electric buses, and the first bulk will arrive in August, stated CNBC TV-18.

In other news, the automaker has entered into a strategic partnership with the Japanese chipmaker Renesas Electronics Corp (TYO: 6723 ) for designing, developing and producing semiconductor solutions for Indian and other emerging markets.
