Benzinga - In Monday’s trading session, the NIFTY 50 index saw significant activity, with Tata Motors leading the pack as the top performer, while UPL experienced the most considerable decline among the index’s constituents.

Tata Motors experienced a notable surge, with its stock price increasing by 5.47%, closing at ₹926.80.

Conversely, UPL Ltd (NS: UPLL ). faced a significant setback, with its stock price dropping by 11.18%, closing at ₹474.00.

The Indian benchmark indices closed lower, retracting from their intraday highs. The Sensex ended down 354.21 points or 0.49% at 71,731.42, and the Nifty closed down 82.10 points or 0.38% at 21,771.70. Consumer Durables, Financial Services, FMCG, and Banks were among the sectors experiencing the most significant declines. The broader markets also saw a sell-off towards the end of the trading session, with many indices finishing in negative territory.
