Investing.com -- PMS Fund Manager and the Founder & Chief Investment Officer of the Marcellus Investment Managers Saurabh Mukherjea has rejigged his famous smallcap portfolio.

The Street’s top fund manager has bought shares of the diagnostic network company Vijaya Diagnostic Centre (NS: VIJA ) (VDC) despite the small-cap stock tanking over 31% in almost a year.

Mukherjea has sold holdings in the agro-processing company Gujarat Ambuja Exports (NS: GAME ) even though the multibagger stock skyrocketed more than 300% in the past five years.

Upon the rationale for adding VDC’s shares to his portfolio, Mukherjea's team pointed to the company’s upper hand in corporate tie-ups and wellness packages, given its vast network of hubs built in and around Hyderabad, along with the advantage of its business model of radiology and pathology.

Further, VDC provides a quality edge over its peers, which has aided it to acquire a market share of around 20% in Hyderabad, added Saurabh Mukherjea's team in a newsletter.

Upon the exclusion of Gujarat Ambuja Exports from its Little Champs portfolio of smallcap stocks, the PMS company said that it had the lowest score in Marcellus’ position sizing framework for the portfolio and also ranked lower compared to VDC.
