Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the FTSE 350 Fixed Line Telecommuniations, FTSE 350 Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology and FTSE 350 Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF), which rose 7.31% or 1,610.00 points to trade at 23,630.00 at the close. Entain PLC (LON:ENT) added 6.77% or 47.20 points to end at 744.40 and Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICGIN) was up 2.36% or 56.00 points to 2,426.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Schroders PLC (LON:SDR), which fell 3.13% or 12.00 points to trade at 371.60 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) declined 2.56% or 8.90 points to end at 338.50 and AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) down 2.14% or 256.00 points to 11,708.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 921 to 831 and 638 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.20% or 35.39 to $2,910.01 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.58% or 0.41 to hit $70.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.16 to trade at $74.86 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.43% to 1.26, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 106.62.
