Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the FTSE 350 Fixed Line Telecommuniations, FTSE 350 Oil & Gas and FTSE 350 Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF), which rose 6.93% or 1,185.00 points to trade at 18,285.00 at the close. Rentokil Initial PLC (LON:RTO) added 4.47% or 16.10 points to end at 376.70 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was up 3.42% or 20.50 points to 619.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prudential PLC (LON:PRU), which fell 3.40% or 22.60 points to trade at 642.20 in late trade. BP PLC (LON:BP) declined 2.41% or 9.90 points to end at 400.25 and Persimmon PLC (LON:PSN) down 2.41% or 40.50 points to 1,641.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 965 to 825 and 685 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 3.35 to $2,680.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.22% or 1.59 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 1.30 to trade at $73.17 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.57% to 1.33, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 100.54.
