Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the FTSE 350 Fixed Line Telecommuniations, FTSE 350 Beverages and FTSE 350 Gas Water & Multiutilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Entain PLC (LON:ENT), which rose 6.02% or 43.40 points to trade at 764.00 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) added 3.53% or 11.00 points to end at 322.70 and Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) was up 3.49% or 75.50 points to 2,237.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DCC plc (LON:DCC), which fell 6.51% or 330.00 points to trade at 4,740.00 in late trade. GSK plc (LON:GSK) declined 2.97% or 41.50 points to end at 1,358.00 and Diageo PLC (LON:DGE) down 2.71% or 59.00 points to 2,118.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1051 to 717 and 578 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.03% or 33.29 to $3,261.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.70% or 1.67 to hit $63.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.42% or 1.57 to trade at $66.53 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.79% to 1.33, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 100.93.
