Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the FTSE 350 Support Services, FTSE 350 Industrial Engineering and FTSE 350 - Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Rentokil Initial PLC (LON:RTO), which rose 7.77% or 34.80 points to trade at 482.90 at the close. Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) added 3.18% or 22.20 points to end at 719.80 and Admiral Group PLC (LON:ADML) was up 2.46% or 63.00 points to 2,629.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which fell 7.12% or 32.70 points to trade at 426.30 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) declined 3.41% or 5.80 points to end at 164.20 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) down 1.95% or 12.00 points to 604.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1070 to 726 and 691 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.38% or 9.05 to $2,390.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.50% or 0.39 to hit $78.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.39 to trade at $82.24 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.10.
