Jane Street to Challenge SEBI’s Rs 4,843 Crore Ban Over “Index Arbitrage” Trades
Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the FTSE 350 Financial Services, FTSE 350 - Automobiles & Parts and FTSE 350 Banks sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.40% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Standard Chartered PLC (LON:STAN), which rose 2.91% or 33.50 points to trade at 1,186.00 at the close. 3I Group PLC (LON:III) added 2.84% or 118.00 points to end at 4,268.00 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) was up 2.56% or 460.00 points to 18,435.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL), which fell 3.34% or 76.50 points to trade at 2,217.00 in late trade. Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) declined 2.67% or 52.00 points to end at 1,895.50 and BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES) down 2.60% or 51.50 points to 1,930.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 991 to 662 and 656 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.61% or 20.58 to $3,354.52 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.97% or 1.25 to hit $64.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.81% or 1.18 to trade at $66.52 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.35, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 99.14.
