Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the FTSE 350 - Automobiles & Parts, FTSE 350 Household Goods and FTSE 350 Industrial Transportation sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Severn Trent PLC (LON:SVT), which rose 3.75% or 98.00 points to trade at 2,715.00 at the close. Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV) added 3.51% or 19.00 points to end at 559.80 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was up 3.26% or 15.60 points to 493.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD), which fell 1.68% or 1.22 points to trade at 71.22 in late trade. Relx PLC (LON:REL) declined 1.45% or 52.00 points to end at 3,543.00 and DCC plc (LON:DCC) down 1.41% or 80.00 points to 5,610.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1265 to 559 and 675 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.82% or 43.35 to $2,423.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.49% or 0.40 to hit $82.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.30 to trade at $85.38 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.55% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 104.10.
