Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the FTSE 350 General Industrials, FTSE 350 Aerospace & Defense and FTSE 350 Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.31% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Smiths Group PLC (LON:SMIN), which rose 10.78% or 201.00 points to trade at 2,066.00 at the close. Land Securities Group PLC (LON:LAND) added 2.72% or 15.50 points to end at 585.00 and Mondi PLC (LON:MNDI) was up 2.39% or 29.50 points to 1,262.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which fell 2.32% or 16.50 points to trade at 696.00 in late trade. Prudential PLC (LON:PRU) declined 1.54% or 10.60 points to end at 678.20 and J Sainsbury PLC (LON:SBRY) down 1.47% or 3.80 points to 254.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1061 to 731 and 616 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.04% or 1.09 to $2,846.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $72.48 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.22 to trade at $75.67 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.25, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 107.73.
