Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the FTSE 350 - Automobiles & Parts, FTSE 350 Tobacco and FTSE 350 Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Frasers Group PLC (LON:FRAS), which rose 9.19% or 75.50 points to trade at 897.00 at the close. Schroders PLC (LON:SDR) added 4.88% or 18.40 points to end at 395.20 and JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:JD) was up 3.64% or 4.25 points to 120.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO), which fell 4.93% or 98.50 points to trade at 1,899.50 in late trade. Melrose Industries PLC (LON:MRON) declined 3.77% or 21.40 points to end at 545.60 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) down 3.68% or 17.90 points to 468.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1080 to 709 and 702 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.14% or 3.35 to $2,463.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.26% or 0.21 to hit $81.65 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.23 to trade at $85.31 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.30, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 103.72.
