Trump slaps 30% tariffs on EU, Mexico
Investing.com – United Kingdom equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the FTSE 350 Travel & Leisure, FTSE 350 Life Insurance and FTSE 350 - Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Melrose Industries PLC (LON:MRON), which rose 3.59% or 17.90 points to trade at 517.20 at the close. Standard Chartered PLC (LON:STAN) added 2.26% or 26.00 points to end at 1,178.50 and Schroders PLC (LON:SDR) was up 1.50% or 5.40 points to 364.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Berkeley Group Holdings PLC (LON:BKGH), which fell 8.19% or 340.00 points to trade at 3,810.00 in late trade. B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB) declined 3.33% or 9.10 points to end at 263.90 and Vistry Group PLC (LON:VTYV) down 3.31% or 21.20 points to 619.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 964 to 663 and 682 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.66% or 22.48 to $3,385.62 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $73.46 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.85% or 2.25 to trade at $76.60 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.35, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 98.28.
