Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the BIST Insurance, BIST Electricity and BIST Holding & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 2.12% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 3.79% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.11 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 1.89% or 0.88 points to end at 47.40 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was up 1.08% or 1.05 points to 98.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sok Marketler (IS:SOKM), which fell 9.26% or 4.85 points to trade at 47.50 in late trade. Borusan Yatirim ve Pazarlama AS (IS:BRYAT) declined 8.32% or 197.00 points to end at 2,172.00 and Bera Holding AS (IS:BERA) down 5.86% or 0.95 points to 15.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 500 to 65 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
Shares in Sok Marketler (IS:SOKM) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.26% or 4.85 to 47.50.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.06% or 1.65 to $2,541.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.14% or 0.75 to hit $66.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.54 to trade at $69.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.06% to 33.99, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 37.44.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 101.64.
