Turkey shares lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.51%

Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports , Banking and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.51%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS: SASA ), which rose 5.66% or 0.670 points to trade at 12.500 at the close. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS: AKSA ) added 4.52% or 0.72 points to end at 16.65 and Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS: TATGD ) was up 4.08% or 0.240 points to 6.120 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: BJKAS ), which lost 5.53% or 0.220 points to trade at 3.760 in late trade. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: CEMTS ) declined 4.94% or 0.240 points to end at 4.620 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS: VAKBN ) shed 4.05% or 0.280 points to 6.630.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 228 to 136 and 45 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.53% or 7.00 to $1319.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.58% or 0.36 to hit $62.05 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.23 to trade at $65.98 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.47% to 3.9389, while EUR/TRY rose 0.83% to 4.8594.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 89.45.
