Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Metal Products & Machinery, Food & Beverages and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which rose 5.56% or 0.32 points to trade at 6.08 at the close. Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) added 5.24% or 1.86 points to end at 37.36 and Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) was up 5.08% or 0.98 points to 20.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which lost 4.30% or 0.19 points to trade at 4.23 in late trade. Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) declined 3.23% or 0.030 points to end at 0.900 and AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) shed 1.90% or 0.020 points to 1.030.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 265 to 79 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 2.45% or 29.75 to $1242.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.89% or 0.44 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.36 to trade at $49.68 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.48% to 2.9050, while EUR/TRY rose 0.11% to 3.2937.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.52% at 94.11.
