Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the BIST Sports, BIST Wholesale & Retail Trade and BIST Wood Paper Printing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS), which rose 10.00% or 0.44 points to trade at 4.84 at the close. Girisim Elektrik Taahhut Ticaret & Sanayi AS (IS:GESAN) added 5.08% or 2.32 points to end at 47.98 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) was up 4.45% or 4.90 points to 114.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO), which fell 2.95% or 0.41 points to trade at 13.47 in late trade. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 2.95% or 2.15 points to end at 70.85 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) down 2.65% or 0.76 points to 27.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 302 to 253 and 28 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.60% or 15.81 to $2,651.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $73.17 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 35.17, while EUR/TRY rose 0.03% to 36.62.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 107.96.
