Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Taiwan Transport and Taiwan Electronic & Part components sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) added 10.00% or 3.20 points to end at 35.20 and Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025) was up 9.99% or 7.10 points to 78.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included China Container Terminal Corp (TW:2613), which fell 9.99% or 3.85 points to trade at 34.70 in late trade. Wan Hai Lines Ltd (TW:2615) declined 9.98% or 9.90 points to end at 89.30 and Creative Sensor Inc (TW:8249) down 9.93% or 5.60 points to 50.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-year highs; up 350.24% or 7.39 to 9.50. Shares in Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) rose to 3-year highs; rising 10.00% or 3.20 to 35.20.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.24% or 0.18 to $74.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.36% or 0.28 to hit $77.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 8.25 to trade at $2,659.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.13% to 32.24, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.14% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 102.30.
