Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Taiwan Other Electronic, Taiwan Transport and Taiwan Electronic & Part components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Advantech Co Ltd (TW:2395), which rose 10.00% or 37.50 points to trade at 412.50 at the close. Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) added 10.00% or 16.00 points to end at 176.00 and Parpro Corp (TW:4916) was up 10.00% or 3.20 points to 35.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Inc (TW:1325), which fell 3.51% or 1.25 points to trade at 34.35 in late trade. Johnson Health Tech Co Ltd (TW:1736) declined 3.38% or 6.00 points to end at 171.50 and Delpha Construction Co Ltd (TW:2530) down 2.64% or 1.05 points to 38.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Advantech Co Ltd (TW:2395) rose to all time highs; rising 10.00% or 37.50 to 412.50.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.46% or 0.33 to $71.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $74.86 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 5.81 to trade at $2,887.19 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 32.85, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 107.62.
