Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Taiwan Electronic & Part components, Taiwan Information Service and Taiwan Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aces Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3605), which rose 10.00% or 5.70 points to trade at 62.70 at the close. MiTAC Holdings Corp (TW:3706) added 9.94% or 6.60 points to end at 73.00 and Fortune Electric Co Ltd (TW:1519) was up 8.81% or 46.00 points to 568.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Harvatek Corp (TW:6168), which fell 7.61% or 1.75 points to trade at 21.25 in late trade. New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:2516) declined 7.32% or 1.35 points to end at 17.10 and United Microelectronics Corporation (TW:2303) down 6.40% or 2.75 points to 40.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Aces Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3605) rose to 3-year highs; rising 10.00% or 5.70 to 62.70. Shares in United Microelectronics Corporation (TW:2303) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.40% or 2.75 to 40.20.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.83% or 1.33 to $73.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.95% or 0.72 to hit $76.39 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.74% or 21.03 to trade at $2,813.97 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.68% to 33.17, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.46% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.15% at 109.46.
