Sweden shares higher at close of trade; OMX Stockholm 30 up 0.27%

Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.27%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST: SSABa ), which rose 5.35% or 2.54 points to trade at 49.98 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (ST: NDA ) added 1.61% or 1.52 points to end at 95.76 and Svenska Handelsbanken AB A (ST: SHBa ) was up 1.60% or 1.8 points to 114.6 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST: FINGb ), which lost 2.73% or 0.28 points to trade at 9.99 in late trade. Volvo, AB ser. B (ST: VOLVb ) declined 1.11% or 1.68 points to end at 149.07 and Skanska AB ser. B (ST: SKAb ) shed 0.94% or 1.55 points to 162.85.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 301 to 300 and 59 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.38% or 1.49 to $61.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.13% or 1.40 to hit $64.39 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 8.60 to trade at $1326.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/SEK was up 0.57% to 10.2355, while USD/SEK rose 0.58% to 8.2529.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 89.65.
