Sri Lanka shares higher at close of trade; CSE All-Share up 0.39%

Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare , Information Technology and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.39% to hit a new 52-week high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM: PCPH ), which rose 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.3000 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM: CPRT ) added 24.96% or 17.80 points to end at 89.10 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM: NAND ) was up 24.83% or 11.20 points to 56.30 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM: ANIL ), which lost 7.69% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.200 in late trade. Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM: LAMB ) declined 7.44% or 19.30 points to end at 240.00 and Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM: LPRT ) shed 6.90% or 10.00 points to 135.00.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 132 to 72 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.51% or 0.25 to $48.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.72% or 0.37 to hit $52.02 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 9.36 to trade at $1245.76 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was up 0.25% to 197.625, while USD/LKR fell 0.12% to 152.510.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 97.85.
