Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Information Technology and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.31% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Asia Capital PLC (CM:ACAP) added 15.71% or 1.10 points to end at 8.10 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 12.50% or 0.1000 points to 0.9000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA), which lost 7.95% or 3.30 points to trade at 38.20 in late trade. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 7.69% or 0.100 points to end at 1.200 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) shed 5.43% or 3.50 points to 61.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 60 and 57 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.88% or 0.39 to $43.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.81% or 0.38 to hit $46.33 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.27 to trade at $1207.43 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.02% to 197.855, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.89.
