Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Motors, Investment Trust and Plantations sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV), which rose 19.81% or 10.50 points to trade at 63.50 at the close. Laxapana Batteries PLC (CM:LITE) added 13.73% or 1.40 points to end at 11.60 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 11.20% or 2.70 points to 26.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC (CM:BOGA), which lost 16.00% or 2.40 points to trade at 12.60 in late trade. Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) declined 10.34% or 0.300 points to end at 2.600 and AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV) shed 9.28% or 32.50 points to 317.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 71 and 57 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.17% or 0.09 to $53.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $55.64 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.95 to trade at $1193.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 188.335, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 150.280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 100.50.
