At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.81% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which rose 23.97% or 5.80 points to trade at 30.00 at the close. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 15.38% or 8.00 points to end at 60.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which lost 25.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Odel PLC (CM:ODEL) declined 14.84% or 3.80 points to end at 21.80 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) shed 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 108 to 47 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.18% or 0.11 to $60.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $66.67 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1315.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.01% to 208.705, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 153.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 91.77.
