Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Madrid Petrol and Power, Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction and Madrid Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 2.34% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX), which fell 1.07% or 0.47 points to trade at 43.31 at the close. Bankinter (BME:BKT) fell 1.39% or 0.10 points to end at 7.11 and Banco Santander (BME:SAN) was down 1.58% or 0.06 points to 3.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which fell 6.36% or 1.44 points to trade at 21.20 in late trade. Enagas (BME:ENAG) declined 5.14% or 0.72 points to end at 13.30 and Acciona (BME:ANA) down 5.05% or 6.10 points to 114.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 188 to 14 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.15% or 28.35 to $2,441.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.45% or 0.33 to hit $73.19 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.23 to trade at $76.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.58% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 102.58.
