Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Madrid Petrol and Power, Madrid Consumer Services and Madrid Technology and Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (BME:FER), which rose 0.59% or 0.22 points to trade at 37.54 at the close. Bankinter (BME:BKT) added 0.53% or 0.04 points to end at 7.53 and Mapfre (BME:MAP) was up 0.50% or 0.01 points to 2.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Acciona (BME:ANA), which fell 4.51% or 5.60 points to trade at 118.50 in late trade. Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) declined 3.87% or 0.67 points to end at 16.65 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) down 3.54% or 0.69 points to 18.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 129 to 48 and 34 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Shares in Mapfre (BME:MAP) rose to 3-year highs; up 0.50% or 0.01 to 2.43.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.65% or 17.20 to $2,643.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.07% or 2.25 to hit $75.49 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.11% or 2.38 to trade at $78.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.73.
