Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction, Madrid Petrol and Power and Madrid Technology and Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.30% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankinter (BME:BKT), which rose 1.09% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.63 at the close. Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) added 1.04% or 0.48 points to end at 46.44 and Telefonica (BME:TEF) was up 1.02% or 0.04 points to 4.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which fell 4.06% or 0.51 points to trade at 12.05 in late trade. Acciona (BME:ANA) declined 3.72% or 4.30 points to end at 111.30 and Ferrovial (BME:FER) down 2.89% or 1.06 points to 35.56.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 101 to 96 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.85% or 19.85 to $2,329.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.14% or 0.89 to hit $78.94 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.89 to trade at $83.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 105.08.
