Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Madrid Consumer Goods, Madrid Consumer Services and Madrid Technology and Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:BBVA), which rose 3.06% or 0.30 points to trade at 10.24 at the close. Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) added 1.88% or 0.04 points to end at 2.06 and Repsol (BME:REP) was up 1.75% or 0.21 points to 11.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which fell 8.27% or 5.25 points to trade at 58.25 in late trade. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) declined 4.13% or 0.33 points to end at 7.67 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) down 3.64% or 0.14 points to 3.63.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 123 to 74 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Shares in Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.27% or 5.25 to 58.25. Shares in Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.88% or 0.04 to 2.06. Shares in SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) fell to 3-year lows; down 4.13% or 0.33 to 7.67.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.20% or 32.66 to $2,682.34 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.38% or 1.80 to hit $77.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 1.58 to trade at $81.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 109.72.
