Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction, Madrid Technology and Telecommunications and Madrid Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY), which rose 1.89% or 0.42 points to trade at 22.68 at the close. Iberdrola (BME:IBE) added 1.42% or 0.19 points to end at 13.57 and Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) was up 1.25% or 0.07 points to 5.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which fell 4.05% or 0.86 points to trade at 20.38 in late trade. Acciona (BME:ANA) declined 3.18% or 4.10 points to end at 125.00 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) down 2.99% or 0.36 points to 11.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 140 to 50 and 30 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.25% or 32.70 to $2,647.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.11 to hit $71.05 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.33 to trade at $74.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 100.41.
