Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction, Madrid Consumer Services and Madrid Technology and Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 2.21% or 0.24 points to trade at 10.85 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 2.02% or 0.19 points to end at 9.85 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) was up 1.64% or 0.09 points to 5.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), which fell 2.43% or 0.79 points to trade at 31.68 in late trade. Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb) declined 1.82% or 0.36 points to end at 19.10 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) down 1.62% or 0.68 points to 41.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 115 to 77 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 16.55 to $2,589.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $68.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.28 to trade at $72.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 106.33.
