Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Madrid Financial Services & Real Estate, Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction and Madrid Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (BME:CABK), which rose 3.48% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.29 at the close. Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) added 3.07% or 0.06 points to end at 1.85 and Banco Santander (BME:SAN) was up 3.04% or 0.12 points to 4.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), which fell 1.34% or 0.46 points to trade at 33.97 in late trade. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) declined 1.08% or 0.09 points to end at 8.21 and Enagas (BME:ENAG) down 1.02% or 0.14 points to 13.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 134 to 56 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.64% or 15.80 to $2,495.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.73% or 1.33 to hit $78.31 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 1.41 to trade at $81.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.51% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 102.72.
