Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction, Madrid Consumer Goods and Madrid Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS), which rose 5.43% or 2.40 points to trade at 46.60 at the close. Ferrovial (BME:FER) added 2.62% or 1.04 points to end at 40.70 and Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) was up 2.31% or 1.24 points to 54.92 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which fell 2.12% or 0.43 points to trade at 19.87 in late trade. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) declined 1.71% or 1.10 points to end at 63.10 and Acciona (BME:ANA) down 1.50% or 1.80 points to 118.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 116 to 73 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Shares in ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) rose to all time highs; up 5.43% or 2.40 to 46.60. Shares in Ferrovial (BME:FER) rose to all time highs; rising 2.62% or 1.04 to 40.70.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.43% or 11.34 to $2,669.84 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.07% or 2.09 to hit $70.19 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.76% or 1.98 to trade at $73.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 106.22.
