Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Madrid Financial Services & Real Estate, Madrid Consumer Services and Madrid Petrol and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which rose 2.13% or 0.46 points to trade at 22.08 at the close. Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) added 2.07% or 0.11 points to end at 5.43 and Fluidra (BME:FLUI) was up 1.89% or 0.40 points to 21.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb), which fell 1.89% or 0.40 points to trade at 20.80 in late trade. Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) declined 0.35% or 0.08 points to end at 22.86 and Telefonica (BME:TEF) down 0.19% or 0.01 points to 4.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 137 to 65 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Shares in Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb) fell to all time lows; falling 1.89% or 0.40 to 20.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 5.80 to $2,530.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.18% or 0.80 to hit $68.47 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.56 to trade at $71.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.52.
