Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Madrid Consumer Goods, Madrid Consumer Services and Madrid Technology and Telecommunications sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 6.29% or 0.58 points to trade at 9.81 at the close. Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) added 4.54% or 2.10 points to end at 48.38 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) was up 2.90% or 0.33 points to 11.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which fell 2.20% or 0.48 points to trade at 21.36 in late trade. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) declined 1.77% or 1.35 points to end at 75.10 and Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL) down 1.47% or 0.17 points to 11.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 111 to 82 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 1.50 to $2,544.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.21% or 1.45 to hit $67.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.75% or 1.21 to trade at $70.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 101.66.
