Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction, Madrid Consumer Services and Madrid Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (BME:FER), which rose 3.54% or 1.32 points to trade at 38.62 at the close. Fluidra (BME:FLUI) added 3.48% or 0.84 points to end at 24.96 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) was up 2.91% or 0.09 points to 3.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Caixabank SA (BME:CABK), which fell 2.45% or 0.13 points to trade at 5.10 in late trade. Amadeus IT (BME:AMA) declined 1.16% or 0.78 points to end at 66.30 and ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) down 0.29% or 0.07 points to 23.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 105 to 82 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Shares in International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) rose to 3-year highs; up 2.91% or 0.09 to 3.04.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.92% or 79.80 to $2,657.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.67% or 1.90 to hit $69.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.41% or 1.80 to trade at $72.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 107.01.
