Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Madrid Financial Services & Real Estate, Madrid Consumer Goods and Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (BME:IDR), which rose 1.56% or 0.26 points to trade at 16.89 at the close. Banco Santander (BME:SAN) added 1.55% or 0.07 points to end at 4.39 and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:BBVA) was up 1.30% or 0.12 points to 9.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which fell 1.37% or 0.25 points to trade at 17.99 in late trade. Acciona (BME:ANA) declined 1.27% or 1.40 points to end at 108.80 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) down 0.87% or 0.08 points to 9.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 97 to 97 and 31 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.89% or 23.54 to $2,630.36 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.80% or 0.56 to hit $70.18 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.53 to trade at $73.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 107.86.
