Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Madrid Consumer Goods, Madrid Technology and Telecommunications and Madrid Petrol and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL), which rose 4.03% or 0.40 points to trade at 10.33 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 3.20% or 0.28 points to end at 8.88 and Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) was up 3.17% or 1.00 points to 32.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Caixabank SA (BME:CABK), which fell 4.32% or 0.24 points to trade at 5.23 in late trade. Banco Santander (BME:SAN) declined 3.52% or 0.16 points to end at 4.37 and Bankinter (BME:BKT) down 2.59% or 0.20 points to 7.52.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 126 to 65 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.20% or 32.10 to $2,707.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.18% or 0.83 to hit $70.93 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.94% or 0.70 to trade at $74.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 107.61.
