Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Madrid Financial Services & Real Estate, Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction and Madrid Technology and Telecommunications sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankinter (BME:BKT), which rose 4.70% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.19 at the close. Telefonica (BME:TEF) added 2.87% or 0.12 points to end at 4.13 and Enagas (BME:ENAG) was up 2.83% or 0.38 points to 13.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which fell 5.62% or 1.17 points to trade at 19.65 in late trade. Amadeus IT (BME:AMA) declined 1.61% or 1.00 points to end at 61.20 and Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) down 1.05% or 0.90 points to 85.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 101 to 97 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Shares in Bankinter (BME:BKT) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.70% or 0.37 to 8.19.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.10% or 2.55 to $2,462.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.25% or 0.20 to hit $81.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.21 to trade at $85.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 103.73.
