Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Madrid Consumer Services, Madrid Technology and Telecommunications and Madrid Basic Materials Industry and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG), which rose 2.39% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.13 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) added 2.12% or 0.49 points to end at 23.64 and Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) was up 1.59% or 0.03 points to 1.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which fell 11.44% or 1.11 points to trade at 8.58 in late trade. Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) declined 0.39% or 0.08 points to end at 20.38 and Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) down 0.27% or 0.14 points to 51.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 135 to 54 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Shares in International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) rose to 3-year highs; gaining 2.39% or 0.07 to 3.13.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.03% or 0.91 to $2,665.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.20% or 0.14 to hit $68.86 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.17 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.15.
