Spain shares higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 0.33%
Credit: © Reuters. – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic , Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.33%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC: IDR ), which rose 2.93% or 0.280 points to trade at 9.840 at the close. Acciona (MC: ANA ) added 2.23% or 1.680 points to end at 77.000 and Telefonica (MC: TEF ) was up 1.59% or 0.108 points to 6.888 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bankia SA (MC: BKIA ), which lost 2.16% or 0.078 points to trade at 3.539 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (MC: MTS ) declined 1.48% or 0.410 points to end at 27.300 and B. Sabadell (MC: SABE ) shed 1.13% or 0.016 points to 1.401.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 85 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.54% or 6.50 to $1198.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.62% or 0.45 to hit $71.83 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.20 to trade at $81.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1747, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8918.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.85.
