Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Madrid Petrol and Power, Madrid Technology and Telecommunications and Madrid Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.27% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), which rose 3.22% or 1.01 points to trade at 32.35 at the close. Iberdrola (BME:IBE) added 2.01% or 0.26 points to end at 13.42 and Mapfre (BME:MAP) was up 1.94% or 0.05 points to 2.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL), which fell 4.41% or 0.48 points to trade at 10.41 in late trade. ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) declined 4.33% or 2.20 points to end at 48.60 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) down 1.92% or 0.35 points to 17.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 108 to 87 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.52% or 42.69 to $2,763.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.99% or 2.23 to hit $72.43 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.59% or 2.01 to trade at $75.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 107.21.
