Stock jumps 5% after signing agreement with Marriott to open 7 new luxury hotels in India & Sri Lanka
Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the MOEX Oil and Gas, MOEX Metals and Mining and MOEX Telecommunication sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Bank VTB PJSC (MCX:VTBR), which rose 3.86% or 3.78 points to trade at 101.75 at the close. Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) added 1.03% or 14.00 points to end at 1,351.00 and PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR) was up 0.72% or 45.00 points to 6,309.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which fell 4.58% or 25.80 points to trade at 537.50 in late trade. AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS) declined 2.70% or 0.40 points to end at 14.30 and VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO) down 2.42% or 6.40 points to 258.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 168 to 73 and 9 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 4.26% to 29.91 a new 6-month low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.70% or 23.70 to $3,384.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.69% or 0.51 to hit $74.01 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.02% or 1.59 to trade at $77.26 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.52% to 78.78, while EUR/RUB rose 0.35% to 90.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 98.35.
