Stock jumps 5% after signing agreement with Marriott to open 7 new luxury hotels in India & Sri Lanka
Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the MOEX Oil and Gas, MOEX Electric Utilities and MOEX Telecommunication sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Aeroflot PJSC (MCX:AFLT), which rose 1.40% or 0.91 points to trade at 66.13 at the close. Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) added 0.62% or 10.60 points to end at 1,722.40 and Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO (MCX:MAGN) was up 0.31% or 0.10 points to 30.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX:GMKN), which fell 4.10% or 4.50 points to trade at 106.20 in late trade. TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 4.07% or 25.40 points to end at 599.30 and Rosneft PJSC (MCX:ROSN) down 3.43% or 14.60 points to 411.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 161 to 79 and 13 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
Shares in Rosneft PJSC (MCX:ROSN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.43% or 14.60 to 411.15.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.60% to 38.28.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.30% or 10.15 to $3,344.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.87% or 0.57 to hit $64.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $66.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 78.40, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 89.65.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 99.03.
