Russia shares lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia down 1.61%
Credit: © Reuters. – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining , Power and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.61%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were SG mechel (MCX: MTLR ), which rose 3.42% or 3.15 points to trade at 95.30 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX: PHOR ) added 2.20% or 52.0 points to end at 2412.0 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX: SFIN ) was up 0.90% or 5.6 points to 627.4 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX: SBER ), which lost 4.84% or 9.09 points to trade at 178.71 in late trade. VTB (MCX: VTBR ) declined 3.74% or 0.0016 points to end at 0.0414 and Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX: SBER_p ) shed 3.37% or 5.46 points to 156.66.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 158 to 51 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.10% to 28.930.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.71% or 8.60 to $1194.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.28% or 0.19 to hit $67.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.10 to trade at $74.68 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 0.26% to 68.2055, while EUR/RUB fell 0.11% to 78.8098.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 95.45.
