Russia shares lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia down 0.57%

Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms , Power and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.57%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX: NVTK ), which rose 2.85% or 22.90 points to trade at 825.40 at the close. Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX: DSKY ) added 2.36% or 2.20 points to end at 95.30 and Tatneft-3 (MCX: TATN ) was up 1.90% or 12.60 points to 675.95 in late trade.

Biggest losers included X5 Retail Group NV (MCX: FIVEDR ), which lost 3.92% or 75.0 points to trade at 1840.0 in late trade. Polymetal International PLC (MCX: POLY ) declined 2.28% or 13.10 points to end at 561.90 and Magnit (MCX: MGNT ) shed 1.89% or 98.0 points to 5087.0.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 149 to 65 and 10 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.58% to 25.830.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1302.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.49% or 1.69 to hit $66.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.36 to trade at $74.96 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 0.70% to 62.7355, while EUR/RUB rose 0.02% to 72.4684.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.75.
