Russia shares lower at close of trade; MICEX down 1.62%
Credit: © Reuters. – Russia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.62%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX: SBER ), which rose 2.06% or 4.55 points to trade at 225.95 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX: AFLT ) added 1.40% or 2.20 points to end at 159.20 and Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX: DSKY ) was up 0.61% or 0.65 points to 106.35 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX: MGNT ), which lost 11.21% or 779.0 points to trade at 6170.0 in late trade. VTB (MCX: VTBR ) declined 5.63% or 0.0033 points to end at 0.0555 and AFK Sistema (MCX: AFKS ) shed 5.15% or 0.635 points to 11.700.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 178 to 51 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.38% to 18.350.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 4.57 to $1278.33 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.65% or 0.36 to hit $55.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.32 to trade at $61.89 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 0.19% to 60.1169, while EUR/RUB fell 0.13% to 70.9285.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.74.
