Russia shares higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia up 2.04%

Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Power and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 2.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX: TATN_p ), which rose 5.00% or 25.40 points to trade at 533.50 at the close. Tatneft-3 (MCX: TATN ) added 4.36% or 31.10 points to end at 743.80 and Lukoil (MCX: LKOH ) was up 4.14% or 202.5 points to 5098.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX: MVID ), which lost 2.77% or 11.60 points to trade at 406.60 in late trade. Polyus OAO (MCX: PLZL ) declined 2.73% or 132.0 points to end at 4695.5 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX: SFIN ) shed 2.66% or 15.6 points to 570.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 77 and 26 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.32% to 27.360.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.11% or 13.60 to $1239.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.85% or 1.45 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.49% or 1.48 to trade at $60.94 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.41% to 66.6763, while EUR/RUB fell 0.09% to 75.6760.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 96.865.
