Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the MOEX Electric Utilities, MICEX Manufacturing and MOEX Oil and Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR), which rose 4.35% or 276.00 points to trade at 6,620.00 at the close. IPJSC YANDEX (MCX:YDEX) added 0.81% or 32.50 points to end at 4,022.00 and Sberbank Rossii PJSC Pref (MCX:SBER_p) was up 0.69% or 2.08 points to 304.91 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which fell 2.76% or 13.70 points to trade at 483.50 in late trade. OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) declined 1.58% or 0.52 points to end at 32.80 and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) down 1.58% or 0.12 points to 7.31.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 155 to 82 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.95% to 45.99.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.61% or 19.55 to $3,207.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.40% or 0.86 to hit $62.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.85 to trade at $65.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.38% to 81.10, while EUR/RUB rose 0.96% to 90.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 100.84.
