Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the PSI Telecommunications Gross Return, PSI Technology Gross Return and PSI Utilities Gross Return sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 3.47% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.33 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.46% or 0.21 points to end at 14.55 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was up 1.20% or 0.10 points to 8.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which fell 3.62% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.38 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 2.92% or 0.11 points to end at 3.52 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) down 1.74% or 0.26 points to 14.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 16 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.63% or 0.51 to $80.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.85% or 0.66 to hit $77.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 16.30 to trade at $2,489.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 104.12.
